When you ran out of ideas on what issue to write on you blog or website, do what every writer do and follow this top 5 sources for writing ideas:

1. Search Engines

The first point of source that writers will look for is through the search engines. By this time I’m sure you know what search engines are. They can assist you in looking for keywords and information that people are currently looking for. The keywords you search should be related to the topic you are planning to write. For example: Go to Google search engine and type “Top 10 Niche Markets”, Google will cough out 3,670,000 results related to the keywords you have typed.

2. Article Banks

Another great source for article ideas and information is the old articles from the article banks such as Ezine Articles, Ehow, Wikihow and the likes. By old, I mean articles written 5-10 years ago and there are about 1,000 to 3,000? You don’t even have to register to read the articles submitted by other writers. Just give them credit where it is due for sharing information with the whole world.

3. Reading Other Blogs

If you are planning to make a living out of blogging (like I’m heading to), you need to read more. What better things to read than reading other bloggers’ posts? I started having ideas to create a blog after reading numerous blogs on the internet. Mostly the good ones and I had and still has my share of stumbling upon the less useful ones.

4. Old Books

Old books are also a good source to find great writing ideas. It will even more impressive if you owned the copyrights to some of the books, too, as you can edit and reproduce them as your brand new articles. There are individuals or companies that offer Private Label Rights (PLR) articles for a nominal fee or for free and you should try and get those related to your niche market or topic covered.

5. ‘Top 10 List’ Articles

There is another idea often used by writers to catch the attention of their readers which is the simple “Top 10 List” articles (the numbers in the list may vary according to your liking). Most readers often look for these types or articles not only for internet marketing articles but also in entertainment, sports and political write ups. Come up with your “list of 7” write a short paragraph as a description of the sub topic.

Now that you know the secret (a really well known secret, I have to say), you can start looking for ideas right this instance! Please note that there are other methods that you can use when you got stuck writing your own piece. But for me these 5 are the easiest way. Feel free to share your thoughts on finding writing ideas with the others. Good luck!
